This self adhesive decorative stencil comprises a sheet with adhesive on one side and a precut design (1). Its protective sheet can easily be peeled off. Adhesion of the protective sheet in the combination is 4-12 cN/cm. The adhesion of the self adhesive stencil sheet to other surfaces is 4-50 cN/cm. The protective sheet is an impervious paper, preferably siliconised. The pressure sensitive adhesive is insoluble in water.
