The cover for a cable joint comprises upper and lower shells (2,1) which are connected together but which can be separated by relative vertical movement. Each includes a joint face meeting along a median line (6). End plates (3) are fitted within the cover with their planes perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cover, each end plate having at least one hole for the passage and guidance of cables. Hinge elements and fixings (60) link the two shells together along their common joint line (6). Each end plate (3) has a slot (22), and the hole (20) through which the cable passes has a thin-wall plug surrounding it forming a seal. A further seal surrounds the outer edge of the end plate, forming a seal between the end plate and the upper and lower parts of the shell (2,1) which constitute the outer sleeve of the structure. |
