A method and an arrangement for supplying air to a fluidized bed boiler. In the method, air is supplied from all the corners of the fluidized bed boiler (1) substantially parallel to two opposite walls (14a, 14b) and from the middle of said walls (14a, 14b) toward the center of the fluidized bed boiler (1), whereby the air flows cause the formation of four vortexes in the fluidized bed boiler. The arrangement comprises nozzles that blow air jets towards each other parallel to the opposite walls (14a, 14b) of the fluidized bed boiler (1), and nozzles in the middle of the walls (14a, 14b), arranged to blow air toward the centre of the fluidized bed boiler (1).
