A color picture tube provided with three cathodes (1a, 1b, 1c) horizontally arranged in inline, a first focusing electrode (4) to which a focus voltage (V f o c 1) is applied, a second focusing electrode (5) to which a dynamic voltage (V d y n) changed according to the deflection angle of an electron beam is applied, a final acceleration electrode (7) to which an anode voltage (Va) is applied and an intermediate auxiliary electrode (6) disposed between the second focusing electrode (5) and the final acceleration electrode (7). A voltage between the voltage of the second focusing electrode (5) and the anode voltage is applied to the intermediate auxiliary electrode (6). An axially unsymmetrical electrostatic lens for focusing an electron beam in the horizontal direction and diverging it in the vertical direction is formed between the first and the second focusing electrodes (4, 5), and the power of the axially unsymmetrical electrostatic lens is changed according to the deflection angle of the electron beam.
