PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce load on a living body by forming a hydrophobic polymer coating film containing a disinfectant material on the outer surface of catheter. SOLUTION: Catheter 1 is formed of a material getting soft in the human body, for example, a hydrophilic polyurethane, etc.,, which has glass-transition temperature 30-35 deg.C, has low resin rigidity, and is soft polymer material. A hydrophobic polymer coating film 3 composed of polyethylene containing a disinfectant material 2 is formed on the outer surface of the catheter 1. For example, chlorhexidine hydrochloride is blended with polyvinyl chloride and kneaded by a twin-screw melting and kneading machine. The kneaded resin and polyurethane are simultaneously extruded by a tube extruder so as to provide the catheter 1 having two-layer structure of the inner layer, polyurethane and the outer layer, chlorhexidine hydrochloride-containing polyvinyl chloride. When this is tested by an agar medium, a block circle is formed around the tube, confirming that it has disinfection property. |
