PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cased film capacitor which dose not cause such a phenomenon as the deterioration of capacitance or dielectric dissipation factor (tanδ), defective insulation, etc., even when the capacitor is continuously used under a high voltage in a high-temperature operating environment. SOLUTION: After overcoat layers 4 impregnated with a low-viscosity resin, such as the epoxy resin of an acid anhydride, etc., are formed on the surface of a film capacitor element 1 impregnated with a low-viscosity impregnating agent, such as the silicone oil, etc., the element 1 carrying the overcoat layers 4 is housed in a case 5 and, at the same time, the space in the case 5 is filled up with an injected porous urethane resin 6. The overcoat layers 4 prevent the low-viscosity impregnating agent contained in the element 1 from being absorbed into the urethane resin 6.
