FIELD: equipment for feeding and metering powdered materials. SUBSTANCE: cone or funnel-like rotary housing practically whole is opened from downwards. Material or gas is fed through stationary tube placed in opening of shaft coaxially relative to shaft. Tube is arranged in opening with gap forming annular cavity between walls of tube and shaft. Material is fed to rotating housing with the aid of carrier-gas that may be returned partly or totally through annular cavity. Material is supplied and metered by means of auger feeder. Such apparatus may be used not only for adding powder, for example aluminium fluoride or magnesium fluoride at refining aluminium melts but also for adding larger particles such as granules, needle-shaped particles, particles of disintegrated slag or chips at alloying or secondary melting. Such apparatus provides intensive mixing at slight agitation. EFFECT: enlarged using range, high efficiency of apparatus, reduced consumption of additives or procession liquids, possibility of controlling gas consumption and preventing its escape to environment. 3 cl, 2 dwgp |
