<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently manufacturing the toner small in amounts of a polymerizable monomer and volatile decomposition products of a polymerization catalyst and the like remaining on the toner and superior in environmental safety. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic toner is manufactured by feeding styrene-butadiene copolymer particles containing a carbon black into the vessel of a vacuum drying machine, setting a pressure, e.g. to 30Torr, and a jacket temperature, e.g. to 50 deg.C, and introducing a nitrogen gas, e.g. in a feed rate of 5l/min, vacuum drying the particles, e.g. in 35Torr, feeding the dried polymer particles and fine silica particles made hydrophobic by a suitable treatment and fine organic particles into a Henschel mixer, and stirring the mixture to attach the silica particles and the organic particles to the polymer particles.</p> |
