<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform operation after visually confirming it and to reduce misoperation by recording strokes of a pointing device as segments in vector form and displaying them. SOLUTION: A window manager draws a segment A in vector form the coordinates x1, y1 of a start point P1 to the coordinates x2, y2 of an end point P2. When the end of a stroke is detected, a menu for specifying an action is displayed. When a user selects instantaneous execution, information showing whether or not there is an object at the coordinates x1, y1 of the start point P1 is obtained from a desk-top manager. Similarly, a check is made about the end point P2. Then an object present in an area including the coordinates x1, y1 of the start point P1 is regarded as a parameter of an action to an object present in an area including the coordinates x2, y2 of the end point P2.</p> |
