PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data-receiving device which can manage the data conditions, such as the data quality of the receiving side, the transmitting data quantity by preparing a means which inputs the condition of output data, a processing method selection means which selects the coding and decoding methods that are adaptive to the input condition. SOLUTION: A user I/F 11 inputs the conditions of data, such as the quantity of desired digital AV data to be acquired from a data transmitting device 2, and the accuracy of images. A parameter selection means 12 selects a coding method and the parameter of the device 2 which are adaptive to the condition of the input data. A parameter storage means 13 stores plural coding methods and parameters, which are necessary for selection of the means 12. A data- sending means 15 sends the multiplexed data to a sending medium 3 or receives the data from the medium 3. A data-decoding means 16 decodes the AV data, which are separated by a multiplexing means 14. |
