<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new stair case with built-in illumination which can be installed in a short time with ease, can provide illumination suitably adjusted to ascending/descending the stair case, and thereby can assure safety at one's feet. SOLUTION: Each tread part 5 of a stair case is provided with a light source 6 for ascent, a light source 8 for descent, and with a hollow surface emitting part 7 to which light is injected from the light source for ascent, the hollow surface emitting part 7 is provided with a light diffusion body, and with a light reflection body, light from the light source for ascent 6 is emitted from the upper surface part of the hollow surface emitting part 7 at the time of ascending the stair case so as to allow surface emission over the upper surface of each tread 5 to be performed, and at the time of descending the stair case, each tread below the tread provided with a light source, is illuminated by light from each light source 8 for descent.</p> |
