PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity and showing improved residual colors without causing changes in the silver tone into yellow, by incorporating a specified silver halide projection material into a silver halide emulsion layer. SOLUTION: This photosensitive material has a silver halide emulsion layer containing such a silver halide projected part that has a (1,1,1) plane as the principal plane, 0.5 to 3.0μm diameter calculated as a circle and 0.07 to 0.7μm thickness and that has an epitaxial deposition of a face-centered cubic structure which forms the epitaxial joining part. The silver halide projected part includes planer silver halide particles on the edge part of a planer host particle. A hydrophilic colloid layer of the photosensitive material contains a compd. expressed by formula. In the formula, P, Q, Y are independently nitrogen atoms or CH groups and at least one of P, Q, Y is a nitrogen atom, R1 is an arylene group or alkylene group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, A is a hydroxy group, acylamino group, etc., and n is 1 or 2.
