PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which can stably drive a thin film transistor and increase an aperture ratio while having high field angle characteristics of constitution that drive liquid crystal with a lateral electric field. SOLUTION: Liquid crystal 42 is arranged between a couple of substrates 40 and 41, pixel electrodes 54 and a common electrode 53 which applies an electric field along the substrate surfaces in cooperation with the respective pixel electrodes 54 are provided on one substrate so that pixel areas 59 are formed, and a capacity forming electrode part 55 is formed on the common electrode 53 while having a gap with the pixel electrodes 54 so as to form capacity in cooperation with the pixel electrodes 54. |
