The vehicle seat has a seat surface and a backrest (10). A bearing structure is connected to the seat carriage to carry the backrest. This bearing structure is in the form of a bearing beam (11) on one side of the backrest, to which a pre-moulded backrest bowl (13) is connected on one side. The bearing beam can be turned about a turning axis (16), divided into upper (18) and lower (19) sectors and fixed to the carriage to set the angle of the backrest. The backrest bowl is supported on a bearer (21) on the carriage side.
