The invention concerns a method of eliminating image speckles in scanning laser image projection, wherein a phase hologram is used to divide the illuminating beams of the projector into partial beams which are superimposed again on the screen within the image element (pixel) to be projected such that different speckle patterns are produced which are determined temporally and/or locally in the observer's eye. In this way, an arrangement is produced in particular for laser beam projection, said arrangement largely eliminating or reducing the speckles on the part of the observer but hardly altering the beam shape and beam density or even not altering them at all.
