Track compensating running gear

The running gear e.g. for a portal crane has double-flanged wheels (1) running on widely spaced-apart rails. The wheel and stub-shaft assemblies are axially movable and lockable in a rigid frame. The locking unit works hydraulically. There are chambers (8,9) on respective sides of a piston element are completely filled with hydraulic fluid by intermediate switching of a compensating tank. The chambers may lie on one hub side of the wheel, and the hub (2) and support elements (2-4,10) form parts of the constructional elements of the piston and cylinder.
