The mower is particularly for the edges of ditches, having mowing tools defining a mowing surface and a raking mechanism with tines travelling round an endless track. The two mechanisms (4,5) form a unit mounted on a common frame (3). The path followed by the tine tips is in a plane which includes at the most a small angle with the mowing surface. For part of this path the tips are at a short distance above the mowing tools (11). The tips can be parallel to the mowing surface, and the angle between the tine path and the mowing surface can be adjustable. At this one part of their path the tips can be roughly 2cm above the tools.
