<p>A digital image replenishment method, wherein the steps of extracting a pixel in an original image space (301) corresponding to a digital image signal inputted, as illustrated in the Fig., at every other pixel in the horizontal direction and at every other pixel in the vertical direction, sequencing a plurality of extracted pixels to form four small pixel spaces (401 to 404) and applying the replenishment processing of a pixel value to the small image spaces are included. In the digital image replenishment method of such constitution, the replenishment processing of a pixel value is not applied to an original image space having the low correlation of a pixel value between adjacent scanning lines, but to a plurality of small image spaces having the high correlation of a pixel value between the adjacent scanning lines. In other words, the small image spaces to which the replenishment processing is applied have the high correlation of the above-mentioned pixel value. For that reason, for instance, it can be avoided that a high-frequency component is introduced into a digital image signal corresponding to an interlace image by the replenishment processing in the interlace image of the large movement of an object, and accordingly, there is an effect that a difference coding processing or a differential decoding processing for an interlace image and the like can be performed with high coding efficiency while suppressing its degradation due to the replenishment processing.</p> |
