<p>A method and apparatus permits continued operation for instructions with either invalid data or instructions that cause an overflow. Those conditions cause an interrupt, which initiates special processing. That processing implements operations corresponding the instruction if the instruction was based on invalid data, or stores the invalid data into the result operand.</p> |
