The invention relates to a device for monitoring vital functions and for processing the results of monitoring. The device comprises a measuring sensor 10 resting on the chest, the signal spectrum of which is transmitted with a transmission device 5 to a data collection device 6 and further to a computer 7 and a display or printing device 8 for processing of the signal spectrum and production of the treatment results. According to the invention, the test sensor arrangement 10 has been provided to report on signal spectra based upon several vital functions, such as cardiac or pulmonary function and body movements, as a single, combined signal spectrum, and the computer 7 has a processing program for division of the signal spectrum into several part-spectra of differing physiological origin. <IMAGE>
