The procedure entails using a modular transportable sheet magazine which is connected to the machine and equipped with at least one machine mounted auxiliary component for the separation of the sheets. The operating parameters of the auxiliary component should already be preset with regard to the characteristics of the sheets to be worked. The operating parameters are the provision of separating air, sag of the lowermost sheet in the stack, and the distance of the lowermost sheet from the separating component.
