PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To get on and off to a driver's seat smoothly by moving a steering wheel automatically to a position on which the steering wheel does not interfere with the thigh part of the driver at the driver's getting off time, from the physique estimation value of the driver and a steering wheel non-interference lower limit position. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a driver physique estimation means A for estimating the physique of the driver and also a lower limit position introduction means B for introducing a steering wheel lower limit position on which the steering wheel does not interfere with the thigh part of the driver at the getting off time. The estimated driver's physique estimation value C and the steering wheel non-interference lower limit position D introduced by the lower limit position introduction means B are inputted to a control means E and at the driver's getting off time, respective actuators for tilting and telescoping are driven and controlled so as to move the steering wheel automatically to the position on which an arm force is most easy to display after putting on a driver's hand and the steering wheel does not interfere with the thigh part of the driver. |
