PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frictional material for a brake, which has excellent stability in friction coefficient and less cleaning effect on another disc rotor and hardly generate squeal. SOLUTION: In a frictional material for a brake obtained by mixing binder in fiber material, lubricating material, friction adjusting material and filling material, alumina powder is used for at least part of the friction adjusting material to agglomerate crystals and form agglomerates with an average particle size of 30-100μm. In this case, it is desirable that the average particle size of the crystals is 1-10μm and the mixing rate of the alumina powder to the frictional material for the brake is 0.1-2.0%.
