PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally meltable ink-jet ink compsn. that exhibits a viscosity as low as about 1-10cP at a temp. of about 125-160 deg.C, gives an image exhibiting a minimal blur between colors and an excellent durability, does not contain water, and is suitable for the acoustic ink-jet printing process. SOLUTION: This compsn. comprises a colorant and a reversibly crosslinkable vehicle obtd. from a reaction product of an anhydride with an org. amine and has a viscosity of about 1-25cP at a temp. of about 125-185 deg.C. This printing process includes the step of supplying an ink compsn. comprising a colorant and a reversibly crosslinkable vehicle obtd. from a reaction product of an anhydride with an org. amine and having a viscosity of about 1-25cP at a temp. of about 125-185 deg.C to an acoustic ink-jet printer and the step of jetting liq. drops of the compsn. to a substrate in a pattern of a desired image. |
