<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further increase the rate of removal of ammonia and to maintain the high rate from the easily stage of use over a long period of time by carrying an org. acid having two or more carboxyl groups and a hygroscopic org. compd. on a porous carrier. SOLUTION: An org. acid having two or more carboxyl groups and a hygroscopic org. compd. are carried on a porous carrier. The hygroscopic org. compd. is, e.g. nonvolatile polyol, its ester or ether. The use of polyethylene glycol or polypropylene glycol is industrially preferable. The org. acid is preferably carboxylic acid having two or more carboxyl groups. Oxydicarboxylic acid such as tartronic acid, malic acid, itamalic acid, tartaric acid or citric acid having high volatility and affinity for water is especially preferable as the dicarboxylic acid.</p> |
