PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pneumatic radial tire enabling its regeneration several times, even when the tire having a belt layer comprising steel cords is used in a high temperature and high humidity area. SOLUTION: This pneumatic radial tire has a belt layer 6 comprising steel cords 7 covered with a rubber. Therein, the steel cord-covering rubber 8 of the belt layer 6 is produced from a rubber composition comprising 100 pts.wt. of a rubber and 0.5-5 pts.wt. of a polysiloxane having alkoxysilyl groups of formula I:≡Si-OR<1> (R<1> is a 1-18C substituted or nonsubstituted mono-valent or ether bond-containing organic group) or acyloxysilyl groups of formula II:≡Si-OCOR<2> (R<2> is H or a 1-18C hydrocarbon group) and having a number - average mol.wt. of 200-300,000.
