PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the length of a vehicle body by forming the seating part a load-carrying platform into a flat shape, fitting a leg part on the opposite side of a manipulator, and making the width of the seating part smaller than the inner width of a hand. SOLUTION: In a load-carrying platform 20, a seating part 20A is formed into a flat shape, a leg part 20B is fitted on the opposite side of a manipulator 4, and the width of the seating part 20A is made smaller than the inner width of a hand 5. Where a carrier 3 is placed on the load-carrying platform, the following steps are taken: Picking up the carrier 3→Moving the carrier 3 onto the load-carrying platform 20 in a picked-up condition→Lowering the carrier 3 under this condition→Lowering the hand 5 to the lower position of the seating part 20A of the load-carrying platform 20→Moving the hand 5 under the seating part 20A if the next transfer is required. Where the carrier 3 is picked up from the load-carrying platform 20, the following steps are taken: Operating the hand 5 under the seating part 20A and moving it to the lower position of the ventral picking-up position under the seating part 20A→Raising the hand 5 from the lower position of the seating part 20A, picking up the carrier 3, and transferring it onto a ground device.
