AIR FLOWMETER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air flowmeter in which output noise is reduced and the measurement accuracy of the rate of air flow is improved by utilizing a bent pipe placed to the air intake system of a motor vehicle. SOLUTION: An air flow meter 100 is arranged in a region of a bent part 9 between an upstream straight pipe and a downstream straight pipe on the outer peripheral side where the velocity of air flow is faster than at the conduit center of the bent part 9. The entrance part 100a of the sub-channel 3 of the air flow meter 100 is opened toward the straight pipe located upstream to the bent part 9 of an air intake system, and its exit part 100b is opened toward the straight pipe located downstream to the bent part 9. As the entrance part 100a directly receives dynamic pressure from the upper stream of the bent pipe and the stable flow of air is achieved because of the high velocity of air flowing into the inside, it is possible to improve the measurement accuracy of the rate of air flow and to reduce the output noise.
