PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to sharpen an image without emphasizing a noise in the dark area of image, by dividing a luminance range into plural bands and using a different specified filter for every band. SOLUTION: In an imaging device, the array 200 of photosensitive devices provides an analog amount (electric charge, voltage or current) 202 as the luminance scale of light to illuminate the respective photosensitive devices. The analog amount 202 is directly converted to a digital value by one or plural analog/digital converters 204 and stored in a memory 206. Afterwards, these digital values are filtered by a processor 208 or any other processing is performed to them. Besides, these digital values are not processed but the analog amount is directly processed by a filter 210. Namely, when a read pixel value is larger than a threshold value, a process for applying 1st Laplacian filtering to this pixel value and a process for applying 2nd Laplacian filtering to the pixel value less than the threshold value are repeated to all the pixels in the array. |
