1,112,229. Reciprocating conveyers. K. WISSMANN. 20 April, 1967 [2 Nov., 1966], No. 18187/67. Heading B8A. A reciprocable bar 2 carrying members 3, 4 for pushing material, e.g. metal waste, along a trough 1 is supported by the bottom of the trough. The bar is reciprocated by cylinder means 8 connected to the trough 1 so as to permit vertical and lateral movement of the cylinder and, consequentially, the bar 2. The arrangement is stated to avoid encrustation of conveyed material in the trough. In a modification, Figs. 7, 9, a drive cylinder 76 is mounted intermediate the ends of the trough on a cover 15 detachable from the troughs. Stationary flukes 25 on the trough prevent backward movement of the material. To permit the trough to be curved, sections of the reciprocable bar may be connected by leaf springs, Figs. 10, 11 (not shown). |
