Partition for variable sub-division of storage compartment, e.g. vehicle boot

The partition stands vertically from the floor (13) of the boot and parallel to the wall of the boot. The partition is hinged at each end to vertical side walls (19-22), to allow the space to be sub-divided as required. A manually operated catch (25) is mounted on the partition and engages one of a number of aligned recesses (26) on the bottom of the stowage compartment. Preferably, the catch has at least one pin which enters one of a row of holes (31) at right angles to the compartment wall. A guide rail (34) may be provided parallel to the row of holes and a guide member (35) is attached to the movable partition wall and fits into the guide rail.
