Alcalineaccumulator in the shape of a button cell

A rechargeable button cell has tablet-shaped negative and positive electrodes (3,7), a separator (6) and an alkaline electrolyte (5) in a beaker-shaped lower housing part and a matching lid-shaped upper housing part. The housing parts are joined with a sealing ring (4) between them and crimped together. The sealing ring has at least three retaining noses (9) on the edge pointing into the cell which hold and centre the electrode tablets found in the upper housing part. The retaining noses extend along the small side of the electrode tablets or partly over their side pointing to the separator. The sealing ring is held by press-matching or a bead- shaped enlargement on the housing upper part.
