PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character processor and its method which improve the operability of KANA (Japanese syllabary)-KANJI (Chinese character) conversion. SOLUTION: On the basis of the degree of accuracy of a word obtained from a character string inputted to a reading buffer BYUD (3h) by referring to a field dictionary BDIC (3c) and a word dictionary WDIC (3a), the field of this character string is determined and held. ON the basis of the degree of accuracy of a word obtained from the character string by referring to the field dictionary BDFIC (3c) and word dictionary WDIC (3a), it is decided whether or not a field where this word is used matches the held field. Further, candidate words constituting the character string are determined according to the frequency of appearance of the word obtained from the character string by referring to the field dictionary BDIC (3c) and word dictionary WDIC (3a) and the said decision result. The character string is sectioned into paragraphs according to the determined candidate words. |
