PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce communication cost required for the transmission of a report indicating the result of repeating transmission through the use of internet communication whose communication charge is known to be inexpensive. SOLUTION: When CPU 11 receives the mail of a repeating request from a transmission source by internet communication through internet by a LAN (local area network) board 20, transmission source information of the mail and a transmission destination facsimile number are stored in RAM 13 and the mail is repeated/transmitted by facsimile communication through a public line based on the transmission destination facsimile number by NCU(network control unit) 16 and the like. The mail of the repeating result report indicating the result of repeating transmission is generated, based on a transmission source facsimile number and the mail of the repeating result report generated by the LAN board 20 is returned to the transmission source by internet communication through internet. |
