FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: one or more flexible wheels (one wheel is stationary) are prestressed deformable in friction wave gearing. At point of contact, prestressed deformable flexible wheels are engageable with wave generator. Sizes of engageable bodies may be changed through change of deformation; change in deformation may be also used for control of gear ratio whose magnitude depends on intermediate and inner radius of external wheel, thickness of its wall, external and intermediate radius of internal wheel and thickness of its wall, as well as on radial displacement of above-mentioned wheels due to force applied and number of waves in gearing. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of motion and rectilinear displacement; assembly of stage-type and stageless reduction gears. 2 dwgc
