摘要 A glass heating system (26) includes a low emissivity sheet (14) of coated glass and a capacitor (C1 or C2) for capacitive coupling the coated glass sheet (14) to a power source (16). The low emissivity glass sheet (14) is economical to produce and to provide superior thermal properties. The low emissivity glass sheet (14) has a low sheet resistance and is coupled to one or more capacitors (C1, C2) to increase the impedance and to reduce the power dissipation by the coated glass sheet (14). The exact amount of power to be delivered to the coated glass sheet (14) can be varied by changing the capacitor (C1 or C2). The low emissivity glass sheet (14) has improved thermal characteristics for use in insulating glass doors for freezers and refrigerators. In a two-paned insulating glass door, the capacitor (C1 or C2) can be conveniently mounted in the frame of the door or in the space between the two panes.
