Genes encoding lysozymes (a) or (b) originating in the kidney of bastard halibut (Paralichthys olivaceus). (a) A lysozyme having the partial amino acid sequence consisting of the 1st to 128th amino acids in the amino acid sequence described in SEQ ID NO:1 in the Sequence Listing. (b) A lysozyme having an amino acid sequence derived from the partial amino acid sequence of the lysozyme (a) by substitution, deletion or addition of one or several amino acids therein and having a lysozyme activity.
