Disclosed is a colour camera designed to make digital pictures, including moving objects, using one single CCD surface sensor with a colour mosaic filter, according to a method consisting in making two partial pictures in a quick sequence, for example by using a double flash and by modifying between both frames the spectral characteristic for the image points of the colour picture to be made, in such a way that, after the first partial picture, the CCD surface sensor is moved vertically by a screen distance. From the resulting colour separations for each image element information is obtained on the third missing colour separation, without the usual colour changes specific to a colour camera with a mosaic filter.
