<p>The ESR apparatus includes a reading cell with one or more light sources (13) illuminating a blood sample inside a suitable test tube (16). The light transmitted through the sample is received by a fixed cell photoreceiver assembly (15) extending parallel to the tube and placed at its opposite side with respect to the light source. The output signals of the photoreceiver are obtained by repeated high resolution scannings performed along the tube by the assembly and are continuously processed by the microprocessor unit (11). The assembly has several superimposed photodiodes aligned along the test tube and the light source has several photoemitter diodes.</p>
