摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a composite material of Al or an Al alloy having excellent characteristics of acid resistance, corrosion resistance and thawing properties by adding the molten metal of Al or an Al alloy with tourmaline having speci fied grain size in a specified ratio, dispersedly incorporating it into the molten metal, executing casting and then subjecting it to rolling and extrusion. SOLUTION: When casting the molten metal of pure Al or an Al alloy of Al-Mn series, Al-Si series, Al-Mg series or the like from a gate 2 into a mold 1, together with the molten metal thereof, the grains of tourmaline having 0.1 to 10μm size are added in the ratio of 15 to 65wt.% to the molten metal of the Al or Al alloy to produce a casting or a slab in which they are uniformly dispersed and incorporated. This casting or slab is subjected to rolling and extrusion to obtain the Al or Al alloy composite material excellent in mechanical properties as well as corrosion resistance and acid resistance by the uniform dispersion of the tourmaline grains and furthermore excellent in thawing properties owing to the potential and electromagnetic properties characteristic of tourmaline.
