METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR INSPECTING SHAPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost by eliminating the need of a passage detection sensor. SOLUTION: When the shape of an eggplant S is detected by arranging a line sensor 2 having a visual field 2a extending in the breadthwise direction on a passage for carrying the eggplant S on a conveyor 1, an image data being delivered from the line sensor at a constant time interval is binarized at a binarizing section 7 and inputted to a deciding section 8. The deciding section 8 decides whether the eggplant S has passed through the visual field 2a of the line sensor 2 or not and delivers an image data for determining the shape of the eggplant S to a processing section 9 when a decision is made that the eggplant S has passed through the visual field 2a.
