PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fan motor controlling method and a refrigerator utilizing this method in which the number of rotation of a cooling fan can be adjusted in response to a cooling load of a refrigerator. SOLUTION: This fan motor controlling method is carried out such that a cooling load amount is judged in response to a state of a DC voltage fan motor 22 and an inner temperature of a refrigerator in which the inner temperature of the refrigerator is detected by a temperature sensor 25. A control signal for selecting an AC voltage corresponding to the judged cooling load is generated, an AC load applied by a transformer 23 from a power supply is dropped into a plurality of AC voltages, an AC voltage outputted from the transformer 23 is converted into a plurality of DC voltages by a rectifier 24 and then one of a plurality of DC voltages outputted from the rectifier 24 is selectively supplied to the fan motor 22. |
