PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install a cooling tower in a housing by preventing breeding of algae and bacteria and holding the housing clean. SOLUTION: A sealed container of a substantially cylindrical shape is used as a housing 2 of the cooling tower 1. A water supply tube 3 is passed through an upper part of the housing 2, and a water spraying tube 4 is coupled to the inner end 3a. A drain tube 7 is passed through a lower part of the housing 2, and its inner end 7a is connected to a water tank 6. Filler 9 is disposed between the tube 4 and the tank 6 in the housing 2. An air supply duct 11 is connected to an outer periphery of the housing 2, and a first fan 13 is mounted on the way. An exhaust duct 16 is connected to an upper end 2a of the housing 2, and a second fan 18 is mounted on the way. A dehumidifier 14 is disposed on the way of the duct 11, a first sterilizer 19 is disposed on the way of the duct 16, and a downstream side of the duct 11 from the dehumidifier 14 is communicated with the duct 16 via a bypass tube 21.
