SOUND-PROOF COVER FOR PIPING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound-proof cover for piping having excellent sound-proof effect and workability by impregnating asphalt in nonwoven fabric or coating both surfaces of the asphalt by nonwoven fabric so as to form a sound-proof layer and sticking a sound absorptive layer made of sponge on one side surface of the sound-proof layer. SOLUTION: A sound-proof cover A for a straight tube is composed of a rectangular sound shield layer 3 made of such a one as covering both surfaces of an asphalt 2 with nonwoven fabric 1 and a sound absorptive layer 4 made of sponge and pasted on one side surface of the sound shield layer 3. By means of a two-layer construction including the sound shield layer 3 and the sound absorptive layer 4, more excellent soundproof effect in comparison with case of only the sound shield layer 3 can be obtained. In addition, by making the sound absorptive layer 4 of sponge excellent in its flexibility, excellent winding workability can be obtained. The substance of the sponge is foamed synthetic resin rubber, and it can be made of some other material.
