PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the display quality and to facilitate the manufacturing process, by improving the structure of a reflection type guest-host liquid crystal color display device incorporating a light reflecting layer and a quater wavelength planar layer. SOLUTION: The reflection type guest-host liquid crystal color display device is provided with a pair of substrates 1, 2 joining to each other via a prescribed space and a guest-host liquid crystal 3 containing a dichroic coloring matter 5 and held at the space. A counter electrode is formed on one substrate 1. On another substrate 2, a thin film transistor 8, a light reflecting layer 9 having ruggedness, the a quater wavelength planar layer 10 which is film-formed thereon and is provided with a contact hole and a pixel electrode 11 which is pattern-formed on the a quater wavelength planar layer 10 and is connected with the thin film transistor 8 via the contact hole are formed. Further, a color filter layer 14 which is patterned plane-dividedly matching with individual pixel electrodes 11 is formed and a color display is attached by assigning incident light with different wavelength to respective pixel electrodes 11. The color filter layer 14 is interposed between the a quater wavelength planar layer 10 and the light reflecting layer 9 and fills ruggendenss of the latter to attain flattening. |
