PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To atomize the spray of the fuel by injecting fuel at an impact high pressure using an impact stretching element and to feed the fuel by generating a higher impact pressure through a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A fuel injection device comprises a pressure chamber 32 communicated with a fuel feed source; a low pressure pump arranged on a fuel feed route running from the fuel feed source to the pressure chamber 32; an injection nozzle 41 to inject the fuel; an injection passage to guide the fuel from the pressure chamber 32 to the injection nozzle 41; an injection passage to guide the fuel from the pressure chamber 32 to the injection nozzle 41; a high pressure pump to pressurize fuel in the pressure chamber 32 by an impact force by stretching the impact stretching element 17a having a plunger 17b arranged at a tip part making contact with fuel; and a valve means arranged in the vicinity of the injection nozzle and having a valve means opened in correspondence to operation of the high pressure pump. The area of the impact pressure surface of the plunger 17b is larger than that of the impact stretching element 17a. |
