FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: machine for laying contact wire and/or carrier cable of railway ground contact system has machine frame mounted on running bogies and furnished with reel on which contact wire or carrier cable is wound, guide device furnished with guide roller for orientation of contact wire or carrier cable wound on reel, and guide roller drive to provided shifting of roller in height, rotary drive coupled with guide arrangement which is installed for turning around longitudinal horizontal axis of machine together with drive providing shifting in height. EFFECT: accurate positioning of contact wire in height and horizontally, accurate and constant orientation of contact wire on guide rollers, prevention of slipping off of wire from rollers. 8 cl, 4 dwgt
