<p>A variable displacement swash plate compressor, of which displacement is made variable by changing an inclination angle of a swash plate (14), comprises a cylinder block (1) provided with a plurality of bores (9), and a housing (2) which cooperates with the cylinder block (1) to define a crank chamber (5). A drive shaft (6) is rotatably born by the cylinder block (1) and the housing (2). A rotor (11) is fixed to the drive shaft (6) within the crank chamber (5). The swash plate (14) is slidably and tiltably supported by the drive shaft (6). A hinge mechanism (K) operatively connects the swash plate (14) to the rotor (11). A plurality of pistons (10) interlock with rotation of the swash plate (14) to reciprocate in the respective bores (9). The hinge mechanism (K) has a guide pin (18) which projects from the swash plate (14) and is provided with a coupling (18a). A support arm (16) projects from the rotor (11) and is provided with a hole (16a) which receives the coupling (18a) and extends toward the drive shaft (6). A bush (17) is slidably received in the hole (16a) of the support arm (16). The bush (17) has an inner space which receives the coupling (18a) of the guide ping (18) and allows rotation of the coupling (18a) when an inclination angle of the swash plate (14) is to be changed. The bush (17) has a slit (17b) which permits the inner space to expand when mounted on the coupling (18a).</p> |
