DATA SECURITY SYSTEM AND METHOD

The integrated hardware/software data security system includes a microprocessor (102) which has a 32-bit Local Bus (104) for data. An SRAM (106) is connected to the Local bus (104) for storing data temporarily during processing operations. Ethernet adapters (110, 112) are connected to the Local Bus (104) and provide duplex communications. The system also has a programmable hardware element (114) which is interfaced to the Local Bus (104) by a Local Bus interface (116) and to the Industry Standard Architecture bus (120) by a second bus interface (118).
