The invention concerns a composite ferrule adapted in particular for being mounted on a metal carrier cylinder and used for transferring ink, comprising a base ferrule (10) capable of radial deformation, a layer (12) with limited deformability, an intermediate layer (14) for absorbing radial deformation, and a ceramized layer (16) made of a material with high capacity for dissipating heat. The ceramic coating (18) is etched, generally laser etched, so as to give to the external surface of the ferrule capacity for retaining ink for use as anilox in a printing machine.
